Burning with Compassion
I arrived here safely and am enjoying the ministries that God has placed me in. I am working with Ithemba Creche which is a daycare, in the mornings and in the afternoon I’m working with 7th Heaven, which is an orphanage. I am enjoying working with the kids and at times I have to practice having patience because of the language barrier. (although I am learning some Xhosa and Afrikaans). God has shown me His compassion that He has for people, no matter your status or stature, God loves everyone the same way. We are all His children and just want to love like He loves. I’m burning inside with God’s compassionate heart for these kids and the workers at these places. I have drawn close to Noomsa who works at Ithemba, she is awesome, and her pure faith in God is so strong. She inspires me with her faith, I am learning how to grow in my faith when I talk to her, and I thank God for placing her in my life. I’m very open and excited for what is in store for the next couple of months. I know that it won’t always be easy but it is that stretching that draws us closer to God’s compassion. As I was on the beach today looking for seashells God spoke to me; He said that these shells used to be creature’s homes’, when they grow they shed their shells and get a new one. You can compare this to how Christians are: God lives in us, we are the church- His home, as we grow we mature and become more intimate with God- He challenges us more and it takes us to a deeper level in Him. It is what we do/how we react to those challenges, some creatures get comfortable in their homes, and some Christians get to comfortable as well. Some Christians start to put walls up around their hearts and not want to be stretched to a newer level in the Lord. When you do this you allow satan to have “Blackmail” on you- he can collect money from you because satan can taunt you with this. I personally have let God have everything, He tore down all of my walls at training camp, so therefore I did not bring them here to JBay with me. I am able to openly minister with no regrets at all, I am more vulnerable in my relationship with God, and I know that more great stretching times will come in the future. I challenge those that read this to get uncomfortable, grow deeper in the Lord, and let God be your home!!
On another note, I am still trying to raise support for this mission trip….I still have $1300 left to raise, God has been faithful thus far and I believe that He will continue to bless as I walk in His will. I encourage you all to pray and ask God if He wants you to support; even if you have already supported please keep this a matter of prayer and see if the Lord wants you to support again. For those that have supported I THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This would not have been all the way possible if it wasn’t for your generousity to give!
Love you all!!!!

Courtney, you are amazing! You probably know by now that the Nicaraguan gang returned home today after an overnight delay in Miami. We picked up Heather P. on the way to RDU just as we did last night, by the way, before we got the word they missed their flight! We met up with Amy Stone at the airport, who drove to meet Brian. Great reports from Central America! We surprised them at RDU and held up signs reading… “Wanted: Radical World-Changers!” We can’t wait to hear more reports of our radical world-changer on the other side of the pond! We love you more than a little.
