I feel like Our Walk with God is like a Hiking Adventure.
When we start off on our journey, we are running full throtal skipping, laughing, jumping and feel very excited to see what is in store for us with no reservations!
As you get a little further your start to slow down and loose a little energy. Your kind of out of breath, still very excited ,but the talking and singing starts to slow down and you suddenly become very aware of how much futher your goal is.
Okay now you are beat! You dont feel like you are going to make it. You start to forget why you decided to do this and you begin to look back and see if it might be easier and a shorter distance to just turn around and run the other way. After all it is always easier running downhill verse a few more steps the the prize.
Finally You are there. You made it! It is Beautiful! Its was soo worth and the difficult journey starts to fade away. All you want is just the silence so you can talk to your saviour! God is wonderful and when you are on the journey and you feel like there is no way you can take one more step. God is with you! He is the Grand prize and what can be greater than that!
This has been my walk with God. There are times where I am running, skipping, singing, ready for anything Gods going to throw my way! As I go futher I start to drag my feet. I whine a lot more I start complaining to God alittle more than normal. Till I get to the point where I am full on Crying out Gods name asking him why, why does he want me to go this way? But when I reach the top I remember why. In all truth the pain along the way and the heart ache starts to all blend together. All I can see is Gods Glory.
God has never asked me to just turn around and end my trip but once I finish, God gives me yet another challenge alittle higher and alittle more challenging. Will you take the Challenge?
Hebrews 12:1-3
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” NIV
