We reach for God in many ways, His search begins with something said, ours begins with something heard. Our search for God and His search for us meet at windows in our everyday experience. Everywhwere we look, there are pictures that are not really pictures, but open windows. We must always be looking and listening if we are to see the windows and hear what is being spoken to us through them.
As I am working at Ithemba and 7th Heaven God has really broken me to let me see past the “picture”. We are a solid foundation right now in their lives because we are there to care for them, love them, play with them, and discipline them. Majority of the kids don’t have that in their lives, it is sad because most of the kids are over-looked. In God’s eyes these kids ARE worth it, they are smart, God has a plan for each and everyone of them. One little boy at Ithemba has really stuck out at me, his name is Victor. This little boy has a lot of problems, his homelife is not that great at all, and it shows through his interactions, attitude, and anger. The ladies at Ithemba don’t know how to handle him anymore, I have taken him under my wing to let him know I care for him and to show him God’s love. One day this past week I was outside sitting on the steps, Victor came running to me, hugged me and sat on my lap. While he was sitting there, God spoke to me: “Victor has potential, he is not just another kid, he is hand-picked and chosen by God.” God sees him so much differently, He does not look at the “reality picture”, but He sees through that window which leads to the soul and future. I think we get to content with viewing things as they are and seeing people for what they are instead of opening our minds up to Christ- letting His thoughts manifested through us so we can see past “reality” into spirituality to the open window.
I’m really over-joyed that God has sent me here; it is amazing the things that He is letting me encounter and things that He has placed in my heart for the future. I am still needing to raise support–I have $1300 left to raise; please pray about supporting me in this ministry. God has blessed me so much for me to go out to share His Word and love with others and I can’t do this without the body of Christ’s support with prayer and money. I love you all and thank you tremendously if you have already supported and want to ask you to pray about giving!!
