Where There is Sickness, God Sends His Healers.
Yesterday I was so blest as to spend the morning with Auntie Mathilda and our ministry team who go forth into the homes of suffering and dying people in the townships here, and bringing them great joy and hope. I met a lady named Namaste. Namaste is a very old African woman who was suffering great pains through all of her body up until even two days ago, and physical blindness. If we were in America, I would assume her to be at least ninety years old, but TIA (this is Africa), and she is probably only 60-70. Age just shows up in people’s faces sooner here.
On Thursday, Auntie Mathilda’s ministry group visited with Namaste and prayed over her, and chased much of the enemy’s hordes away. When I met her yesterday, she was dancing in place, and just filled with the joy of the Lord. She said that all of the pain in her body has dissipated, and has not returned, though the blindness remains. We could not understand her, because she spoke only Xhosa (pronounce K-osa, the first sound is more of a click than a k-sound). Auntie Matilda translated between our group and Namaste as necessary, but it was a wonderful experience in Love being a language all of its own accord.
We prayed over her again yesterday. I feel that God is going to bring her even more healing. I know I should not make such a generalized statement, especially when I have seen the exact opposite of what I am about to say demonstrated also, but most of the people here are much more welcome to loving on first meeting, and opening up their hearts and lives even to complete strangers. I met Namaste and she just held my hand for a while, with both of hers. I kissed her gentle hand and she was so enthralled. She began kissing mine in return with the Lord’s passion in each kiss.
After praying over her as a group, I continued to stand beside her, and she just continued to hold onto me, and we just stood there, together, in the presence of the Lord, beaming with His great joy. I rubbed her back and continued to pray over her in near silence. It was simply beautiful.
Through simple happenings such as this, and interactions with so many of the locals here, I am feeling the call to world missions more and more strongly as a full-time year-round every-year calling. I am praying on this very much. The Lord is pulling on my heart toward Zimbabwe right now. I have heard Him speaking through conversations with Malvin, a missionary here in J-Bay who is originally from Zimbabwe, and hearing the stories of the plight and famine (both physical and spiritual) that they face in that area. Malvin is my brother from another mother. We have had some sort of amazing brotherly connection since the very first night our team arrived in Port Elizabeth. He was one of the people who came to pick us up from the airport there and drive us to J-Bay. Please join me in praying that the Lord’s plan would be revealed for where he would have me go from here, and in His timing. I can do nothing on my own. It is only in accordance with His will that anything will work out in the long run.
Also, thank you so much for your prayers this past week. As of now, all of the sickness that was running so rampant through our team has up and run away. We are all well, rested, renewed, and rejuvenated!
The Lord is doing so many great things here! May you all be constantly in His presence and favor.
In Grace, Peace, Love and Harmony,
Harold.
