1 Samuel 30:8- And David inquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
Mark 2:4- And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
God has impressed on my heart lately that no matter what we are going through, just to pursue Him through it all. When you feel like you are at the end of the road with nowhere to go, trust God, and keep walking. God knows what our tomorrow’s hold, He knows how much we can handle, and He is the one that gave us the vision to go and get!
There are times in life that we won’t always have someone around us, that is when we have to encourage ourselves in the Lord. This is sometime difficult to me and then I am reminded of 1 Samuel 30:8. David pursues after God with questions, I know that in my daily walk I question God sometimes. There are times that I can’t see God in the midst of the storms but I know that He dwells in the center of it! I know that He is there because He told David to pursue and promised him that he would recover ALL without fail. This brings joy in my spirit because God promised David that he would not fail, this is a promise for us too, we will never fail in God!! No matter how many times someone may have told you that you are not going to amount to anything, you can hold strong to this verse and know that our Father sees us on His winning side.
Since we are on the winning side it doesn’t always mean that we are free from troubles. Satan is going to try to attack but pursue God with all of your heart. In Mark 2:4 these men tore apart the roof to lower the paralyzed man down to Jesus. To tear apart a roof is hard work, there probably where some areas that would not cave in for them, so then they would have to pick at another part of the roof. This makes me think about our spiritual lives. I know that there are some areas where I have gone through some valleys to get to the top of the mountain but it was all with trust, faith, and believing in God. I strongly believe that when we pursue God wholeheartedly then we will walk into the calling that He has placed on our lives. It is right in front of us, God has already given us the necessary tools to go and do His work, and I believe that the more we pursue after God then we will be blessed abundantly.
